Overview
The Airworthiness Limitations Section for the Gulfstream G200 outlines mandatory maintenance actions required to ensure compliance with Israeli Air Navigation Regulations. It details inspection procedures for major aircraft components to detect structural cracks and maintain airworthiness throughout the aircraft's operational life.
- Mandatory actions derived from Damage Tolerance Analysis and Fatigue Tests.
- Inspections are based on flight cycles, not flight hours.
- Inspection overfly tolerance of +5% is allowed.
- Aircraft must not exceed 20,000 flights.
- Cracks detected must be reported immediately.
- Inspection results must be reported within 24 hours.
- The document is also applicable to the Galaxy model.
- Revisions to the Airworthiness Limitations require CAAI approval.

AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS SECTION P/N G200-1001-09 (POST SB 200-05-280) 1. Airworthiness Limitations Section A. Introduction The Airworthiness Limitations section is Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI) approved and specifies maintenance required under Israeli Air Navigation Regulations (ANR) Chapter 7 Section 126 (equivalent to sections 43.16 & 91.403 of the Federal Aviation Regulations) unless an alternative program has been CAAI approved. The signed CAAI approval form is kept on file with Gulfstream Aerospace Publications. These Airworthiness Limitations are mandatory actions derived from the certification activities, namely, the Damage Tolerance Analysis and the Fatigue Tests. This section presents the maintenance actions established in order to fully comply with the requirements of Title 14 CFR 25.571 and 25.1529 and, therefore, are required to be accomplished in strict compliance with the life limits, maximum intervals limits, inspection methods and PSE location established herein. The Airworthiness Limitations are a result of the Engineering Certification analysis and have been approved by CAAI. The Airworthiness Limitations may only be revised with the approval of the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI). NOTE: This publication is also applicable to model Galaxy. Gulfstream 200 is identical to Galaxy except for model designation - name change only. Damage tolerance analysis of the Gulfstream G200 shows that the aircraft structure can safely sustain damage in the form of cracks permitting timely detection and repair of cracks. The Airworthiness Limitations Section provides a set of procedures for inspection points of the following six major aircraft components: • Forward fuselage • Carry-through structure • Aft fuselage (including Engine Supports) • Empennage • Wing • Landing gears For each of these sections, a summary table of the inspection points is presented below. See Table 3. These tables give, for each major aircraft structural component, a list of structural points where inspections are to be carried out. For each inspection point the following are given: • The structural part and location to be inspected • The inspection method to be used • The number of flights before the first inspection (initial inspection threshold) • The number of flights between all further inspections (repeat inspection intervals) • Effectivity The Airworthiness Limitations Section stipulates, by means of Continued Airworthiness Inspection Tables, explicit inspection procedures and intervals for the detection of structural cracks throughout the life of the aircraft. This is facilitated by the information presented in this Airworthiness Limitations Section. MAINTENANCE MANUAL 05-10-11 Page 1 August 15/25 Airworthiness Limitations inspections (see Table 3) are specified on the basis of flights and not of flight hours. Airframe inspection items will reflect the total flight cycles of the aircraft. Inspections conducted on a Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), (i.e., flaps, spoilers etc.) will be tracked by the total flights of the LRU itself and not total aircraft flights. To allow the scheduling of structural inspections to coincide with a general maintenance check, an inspection overfly tolerance of +5% is allowed. For an inspection accomplishment at a time earlier than the published interval, subsequent inspections are to be scheduled at the specified REPEAT inspection interval, see Figure 1 for examples, and may be accomplished at no later than +5% of the REPEAT interval. Compliance of the inspection greater than the REPEAT Interval +5% is not allowed. An item that has become overdue for an aircraft as the result of a revision to the ALS (which included a new item or a reduced threshold and / or frequency reduction) may be accomplished, unless specifically stated otherwise, at the next inspection interval, not to exceed 500 hours. The aircraft is not authorized to fly more than 20,000 flights. If cracks are detected in any of the specified inspections, this information must be reported immediately to Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and Gulfstream Aerospace LP. Customer Service will then advise on the procedure to be followed. A form for reporting inspection results is provided in Table 2 of this section. Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMR) (1) Introduction The following presents a list of all Gulfstream G200 Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMR), based on safety analyses, performed to meet requirements of CFR / JAR 25.1529, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and other relevant requirements and engineering judgement. (2) Types The Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMRs) are categorized into two types of CMR tasks as follows: • One Star CMR’s (*) - The tasks and intervals specified are mandatory and cannot be changed, escalated, or deleted without the concurrence of the responsible Aircraft Certification Authority (CAAI) • Two Star CMR’s (**) - Task intervals may be adjusted in accordance with operator’s approved escalation practices or an approved reliability program, but the task may not be changed or deleted without prior CAAI approval (3) Maintenance Tasks All CMR tasks are listed in Table 5. NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, task may be performed with a scheduling window as follows: • ±50 flight hours, not to exceed the task interval +50 flight hours between inspections • ±1 calendar month, not to exceed the task interval +1 calendar month between inspections • C checks or monthly inspections may be accomplished on any day of the calendar month that they are due MAINTENANCE MANUAL 05-10-11 Page 25 August 15/25 Table 5: Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMR) ATA Ref Description Type CMP Ref Initial / Repeat 21-30-00 Safety Valve - Functional Check MRB Ref: 21-30-00/02 NOTE: Interval is 1A for Aircraft 004 thru Aircraft 249 Pre-SB 200-21-378, and 5A for Aircraft 250 and Aircraft 004 thru Aircraft 249 Post SB 200-21-378. Temporary Limitation and Inspection Requirements Service Bulletins that are part of Gulfstream’s recommended inspection program are listed in Table 6: Temporary Limitation and Inspection Requirements. This table will be reviewed and updated periodically based on new requirements and compliance information received from the fleet. NOTE: If there are differences between required compliance times or recurring intervals in the individual Service Bulletins and the Temporary Limitation and Inspection Requirements section of the ALS, the ALS shall take precedence.
