No. IA IB 21-0 3 Date: June 7, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Subject: Grand Junction, Colorado Airport Construction June 14-21, 2021 Area of Concern: Flight Operations Distribution: All Aviation Operations Discussion: Starting mid-June, the Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) will begin a taxiway improvement project. The construction project will affect both GJT and the Grand Junction Airtanker Base.
Operations at the Grand Junction Airtanker Base will be impacted during the following dates: • June 14-17 , the main ramp entrance to the base will be closed.
• June 18-21 , both west entrances to the base will be closed.
One entrance to the base will be open at all times during construction.
From June 14-21, the capacity of the base will be decreased. The base will be limited to a one pit operation and will only be able to support minimal aircraft loading during this time. Aircraft parking will be available, but access to parking will be through the tanker base loading area, and additional situational awareness will be required.
The airport will continue work on the taxiways during and after this time, and aircraft may need to back- taxi outside of the dates listed above.
