Before Start

Starting Engine

Instructions for starting the left engine first include opening cowl flaps, setting the throttle to 1000 RPM, and ensuring oil pressure reaches 30 PSI within 30 seconds. The process is repeated for the right engine.

Before Takeoff

Pilots must ensure flaps are set to 0 or 10 degrees, props are at high RPM, and mixtures are set for best power. All doors and windows should be closed, and fuel selectors must be on the main tanks.

Takeoff

During takeoff, the throttle should be fully opened, and engine instruments must be checked. The aircraft should rotate at 80 KIAS and achieve a Vy of 101 KIAS.

Landing

For landing, the gear must be down below 143 KIAS, and flaps should be set to 30 degrees. The recommended airspeed on short final is 90 KIAS.
