Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) issues Service Information for the benefit of owners and fixed base operators in the form of two classes of Service Bulletins. The first class, Mandatory Service Bulletins (red border) includes changes, inspection and modifications that could affect safety or crashworthiness. HBC also issues Service Bulletins with no red border which are designated as either recommended or optional in the compliance section within the bulletin. In the case of recommended Service Bulletins, HBC feels the changes, modifications, improvements or inspections will benefit the owner/operator and although highly recommended, Recommended Service Bulletins are not considered mandatory at the time of issuance. In the case of Optional Service Bulletins, compliance with the changes, modifications, improvements or inspections is at the owner/operator's discretion. Both classes are available on the web at http://pubs.hawkerbeechcraft.com and mailed to: (a) Owners of record on the FAA Aircraft Registration Branch List and the HBC Safety of Flight Information (SOFI) List. (b) Those having a publications subscription. Information on Safety of Flight Information (SOFI) or subscription can be obtained through the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation Technical Manual Distribution Center (TMDC). As Mandatory Service Bulletins and Service Bulletins are issued, the Service Bulletin Master Index will be updated and available online at http://pubs.hawkerbeechcraft.com. Warranty will be allowed only when specifically defined in the Service Bulletin and in accordance with HBC Warranty Policy. Unless otherwise designated, HBC Mandatory Service Bulletins, Service Bulletins and HBC Kits are approved for installation on HBC airplanes in original or HBC modified configurations only. HBC Mandatory Service Bulletins, Service Bulletins and Kits may not be compatible with airplanes modified by STC installations or modifications other than HBC approved kits. Beechcraft 1. Planning Information A. Effectivity (1) Airplanes Beechcraft G58 Baron, Serials TH-2126, TH-2127, TH-2131 through TH-2134, TH-2136, TH-2137, TH-2139 through TH-2141, and TH-2143 through TH-2150. If you are no longer in possession of the airplane, please forward this information to the present owner. (2) Spares Spare units according to the original part numbers listed in Paragraph 2.C. B. Reason Hawker Beechcraft Company (HBC) had received reports from piston owner/operators of circuit breaker toggle switches becoming overheated. These circuit breaker toggle switches were utilized in various electrical systems throughout the airplane. HBC issued Recommended Service Bulletin 24-3735 to address this issue. In addition, improved circuit breaker toggle switches were incorporated into production beginning with airplane Serial Number TH-2125. HBC has received reports that the earlier circuit breaker toggle switches may have inadvertently been installed in the airplanes noted in EFFECTIVITY, Paragraph 1.A. This Service Bulletin is being issued to inspect airplanes for the earlier circuit breaker toggle switches and replace with improved circuit breaker toggle switches, as noted in MATERIAL INFORMATION, Paragraph 2.C. TITLE: ELECTRICAL POWER - CIRCUIT BREAKER SWITCH REPLACEMENT SERVICE BULLETIN Issued: May, 2007 SB 24-3807 2 of 6 RECOMMENDED C. Description This Service Bulletin provides replacement part number information for the circuit breaker toggle switches. The P/N 35-380132-1 through 35-380132-53 circuit breaker toggle switches were superseded by P/N 35- 380132-61 through 35-380132-113 circuit breaker toggle switches with improved internal isolation as a product improvement. D. Compliance Hawker Beechcraft Corporation recommends that this Service Bulletin be accomplished at the next annual inspection, but no later than 24 months, whichever occurs first. E. Approval The engineering data contained in this Service Bulletin is FAA approved. F. Manpower The following information is for planning purposes only: Estimated man-hours for inspection only: 1 hour. Estimated man-hours for inspection and replacement: 4 hours. Suggested number of men: 1 man. The above is an estimate based on experienced, properly equipped personnel complying with this Service Bulletin. Whenever any part of this system is dismantled, adjusted, repaired or renewed, detailed investigation must be made on completion to make sure that distortion, tools, rags or any other loose articles or foreign matter that could impede the free movement and safe operation of the system are not present, and that the systems and installations in the work area are clean. (1) Remove all power from the airplane and disconnect the battery. Display warning notices prohibiting reconnection of airplane electrical power. NOTE Not all part numbers for circuit breakers referenced in the table of MATERIAL INFORMATION, Paragraph 2.C. will be found on any particular airplane. The “Original Part Number” column lists the part number(s) for circuit breaker toggle switches that may be installed and the “Replacement Part Number” column lists the corresponding part number(s) for replacement circuit breaker toggle switches. (2) Inspect the subpanel circuit breaker toggle switches for correct part numbers (as listed in the right hand column of the table of MATERIAL INFORMATION, Paragraph 2.C. under the heading “Replacement Part Number”). If a correct part number is found on each circuit breaker toggle switch, skip steps (3) through (5) and proceed to steps (6) and (7). If an incorrect part number is found, (as listed in the left hand column of the table of MATERIAL INFORMATION, Paragraph 2.C. under the heading “Original Part Number”), accomplish steps (3) through (7) for replacement of each incorrect part number circuit breaker toggle switch. (3) Remove the existing circuit breaker toggle switch and replace with the new switch. Refer to MATERIAL INFORMATION, Paragraph 2.C. (4) Reconnect the airplane battery, remove warning notices and restore power. (5) Perform test procedures on the applicable system serviced by the replaced circuit breaker toggle switch. Refer to the appropriate chapter of the Beechcraft Model 58/G58 Maintenance Manual. (6) Ensure all work areas are clean and clear of tools and miscellaneous items of equipment. (7) Return airplane to service. B. Spares Refer to MATERIAL INFORMATION, Paragraph 2.C. and purge all incorrect circuit breaker toggle switch stock as defined in step (2) of ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS. C. Record of Compliance Upon completion of this Service Bulletin, make an appropriate maintenance record entry.
