Engine Failure During Takeoff Ground Roll
In the event of an engine failure during the takeoff ground roll, the checklist instructs the pilot to close the throttle, apply brakes, turn off the fuel selector valve, and switch off the magnetos and master switch.
Engine Failure After Liftoff
If the engine fails after liftoff, the pilot should maintain an airspeed of 80 MPH, select a landing site, check the fuel selector, set the mixture to rich, and ensure carburetor heat is on.
Forced Landings
For forced landings, the checklist recommends maintaining an airspeed of 80 MPH, turning off the fuel selector valve, lowering the flaps, and preparing the mixture and master switch for landing.
Emergency Descent
In an emergency descent, the pilot should set the carburetor heat to full hot, throttle to idle, and pitch for a speed of 198 MPH.
V-Speeds
