This kit is located at the rear of the cargo area, starting at fuselage station 308 for the Cessna 208 and 208A or fuselage station 356 for the Cessna 208B. This region is separated from the standard cargo area by a partition net. The extended baggn must be installed at all times. An optional baggage kit floor access panel may be installed. The panel must be securely installed for all flight operations. The access panel allows maintenance staff quick and easy access to airframe equipment located underneath the extended baggage kit floor. B per ECO AT-99 Page 5 of 5 SECTION 7 AIRPLANE SYSTEMS AND DESCRIPTIONS The Aero Twin, Inc. Extended Baggage Kit is installed aft of the standard cargo area. The forward end of the extended baggage compartment is located at fuselage station 308 for the Cessna 208 and 208A or fuselage station 356 for the Cessna 208B. The installation has increased the useful cargo capacity by 22 cubic feet, but DOES NOT increase the maximum gross takeoff weight. The useful load of the airplane is decreased by installed weight of the kit less the weight of the removed cabin rear wall assembly. Access to this area is obtained by removing the partition net, fastened to anchor plates around the forward perimeter of the extended baggage compartment. Cargo up to 100 lbs. can be loaded into the extended baggage area, weight and balance permitting. If the cargo is dense and occupies only a fraction of the volume of the cargo area, it should be tied down at the four corner anchor plates with an optional cargo net (Cessna P/N 2015009-3), or suitable strapping. Heavy objects with small supporting “feet" or protrusions with more than 24 lbs. per square inch of floor area must be supported on pads of some material such as 14 inch marine plywood, in order to avoid damaging the baggage compartment floor. More diffuse cargo which occupies most of the extended baggage compartment, can be placed in the compartment and retained by the partition net alone. The partition net must be securely installed before every flight, regardless of loading condition. The optional baggage kit floor access cover must be installed before loading any cargo into the extended baggage area; the access cover must be installed for all flight operations. SECTION 8 AIRPLANE HANDLING, SERVICE, AND MAINTENANCE Airplane handling is unchanged. See Instructions for Continued Airworthiness for information on service and maintenance. SECTION 9 SUPPLEMENTS This Airplane Flight Manual Supplement must be included in the airplane with the basic Cessna Aircraft Company Pilot's Operating Handbook and FAA Approved Flight Manual.
