Operating Limitations
This section outlines the operating limitations for the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, including maximum speeds (Vmo, Va, Vfe), weights for takeoff, landing, and ramp, as well as starter limitations with battery and external power. Key speeds include Vmo at 175 KIAS, maximum takeoff weight at 8750 lbs, and maximum landing weight at 8500 lbs.
Engine Failure During Takeoff Roll
In the event of an engine failure during takeoff roll, pilots should move the power lever to the beta range and apply brakes immediately.
Engine Failure Immediately After Takeoff
If an engine failure occurs immediately after takeoff, maintain an airspeed of 85 KIAS with flaps set to 20 degrees.
Engine Fire During Start on Ground
If the red engine fire annunciator is on, the fuel condition lever should be set to cut off, the fuel boost switch turned off, and the starter switch engaged to motor the engine.
Electrical Fire in Flight
In case of an electrical fire in flight, turn off the battery switch, trip and release the generator switch, and activate the fire extinguisher.
Safety notes
- Always monitor engine parameters during flight to detect anomalies early.
- In case of engine failure, follow the emergency procedures promptly to ensure safety.
