Information Bulletin

No. IA IB 21-04 Date: June 7, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Subject: Helena, Montana Airport Construction June 5-13, 2021 Area of Concern: Flight Operations Distribution: Aviation Operations Discussion: Runway 09/27 will be closed for construction beginning June 5 at 9:00 p.m. through June 13.

The runway will re-open June 14.

, Runway 05/23 – Was scheduled to open Friday June 4 please check the NOTAM to verify its status.

Turf 10/28 – The airport will attempt to keep Turf 10/28 open as much as possible during the 09/27 closure. There may be some time where Turf 10/28 must be closed as the airport is planning to spread asphalt millings on the service road that is near the RTR/airfield electrical vault. It will be closed only to ensure no aircraft/vehicle conflicts during that operation.

Runway 17/35 – will be closed for the entire 8 days as the milling and paving of runway 09/27 will continually pass through the intersection of that runway. To provide for efficient haul routes and to ensure continued milling / paving on 09/27, runway 17/35 will not be open until the project is complete.

Please Note : June 6-11: Runway 09/27 and 05/23 will undergo intersection paving.

• Runway 05/23 will act as the paved runway in use. During that time, the paving on runway 09/27 has been split to two directions to ensure 05/23 is available for use. However, to complete milling and paving of the intersection of those two runways, there will be a period where neither are available. The airport is planning for this to begin at 1800 MDT Friday June 11 and last through 0500 MDT Monday June 14.

• Runway 17/35 will be open when 09/27, 05/23 intersection paving occurs, and therefore the type of aircraft usage will be restricted until the project is complete.
