Applicability

This service bulletin applies to all Beechcraft Model 1900, 1900C, and 1900D aircraft that are equipped with Parker 30-204 Brake Assemblies. The upgrade is facilitated through Parker conversion kit 199-184 (STC 1789GL).

Upgrade Description

The bulletin outlines the upgrade from the 30-204 Brake Assembly to the 30-204A configuration. The new assembly uses two 159-05900 brake discs, which provide improved service life compared to the older 30-204 assembly that uses two 159-04000 brake discs. It is important to note that an aircraft must use either all 30-204A assemblies or all 30-204 assemblies; mixed configurations are not allowed.

Compliance and Approval

The upgrade is recommended at the time of overhaul and has been FAA DER approved. This ensures that the design contents meet regulatory standards for safety and performance.

Instructions for Upgrade

The document provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading the brake assembly, including the removal of old components, reassembly with new parts, and necessary identification markings. It emphasizes the importance of following the Component Maintenance Manual CM30-204A for proper assembly and testing.

Materials Required

The service bulletin specifies the materials needed for the upgrade, including the Service Bulletin Kit (P/N SB7041-1) and various components such as brake discs and manuals. Each kit is designed to convert four brakes on one aircraft.

Safety notes

  • Ensure that the 30-204 Brake Assembly and 40-273 or 40-273A Wheel Assembly are removed before performing the upgrade instructions.
