DESCRIPTION This service document provides parts and instructions to enhance clearance for wire harnesses in the pedestal. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service document can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service document published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) 2) 3) 4) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service document, including the intent therein. The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service document kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service document only as approved and published. The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service document only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the document. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. 2. 3. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. D. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect external electrical power. (2) Disconnect the airplane battery. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. (Refer to King Air Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Passenger Compartment - Passenger Seat Removal/Installation.) 5. Remove the pilot and copilot seat. (Refer to King Air Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Flight Compartment - Pilot and Copilot Seat Removal/Installation.) 6. 7. 8. 9. Repair or replace damaged wires as necessary. (Refer to King Air Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Standard Practices - Electrical Wiring.) Blend and protect damaged areas as necessary on the control rod. (Refer to King Air Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Airplane Finish Care - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: If more than 10% material thickness has been removed from the control rod, replace the control rod. Remove and discard 50-364308-321 Fiberglass Duct. Do not remove existing bracket assembly. (Refer to Figure 1, Sheets 1 thru 3.) Accomplish the following: A. B. Use MS35206-226 Screws and MS21042L06 Nuts to install four TM2S6 Anchors at open rivet locations at side of pedestal. Use MS35206-226 Screws and MS21042L06 Nuts to install two TM2S6 Anchors at open rivet locations along long aft flange. C. Plug open rivet locations. D. Separate wire harness assemblies along both rows of anchors. E. Wrap S4492-13 Sleeve around rerouted wiring along length as shown. Sleeve should be omitted in area of the clamp at forward end of the pedestal. F. Tie strap sleeved harness and attach to new anchors using S2209-5 Wire Ties. G. Orient tie straps to maximize clearance with surrounding structure. H. Make sure a minimum 0.25-inch clearance exists between harnesses and control rod. I. Move pilot controls to verify that no contact exists between harnesses and control rod. CAUTION: Do not maneuver power lever into ground fine or reverse with engine not running or control cable disconnected. 10. Reinstall panel on the left side of the pedestal. 11. Install the pilot and copilot seat. (Refer to King Air Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Flight Compartment - Pilot and Copilot Seat Removal/Installation.) 12. Install seats on the left side of the passenger compartment. (Refer to King Air Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Passenger Compartment - Passenger Seat Removal/Installation.) 13. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery. 14. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service document. NOTE: Textron Aviation recommends that compliance with all service documents is reported to Camp Systems International. Complete a record of compliance. (Maintenance Transaction Report, Log Book Entry, or other record of compliance.) Put a copy of the completed record of compliance in the airplane logbook.
