Engine Failure (Ground)
In the event of an engine failure on the ground, the checklist instructs the pilot to set the throttle to idle, apply brakes, retract flaps, and turn off the mixture and magnetos, followed by the master switch.
Engine Failure (Lift Off)
If an engine failure occurs during lift-off, the pilot should maintain an airspeed of 60 KIAS, turn off the mixture and fuel shut-off valve, and manage the flaps as required. The master switch should also be turned off.
Engine Failure (Cruise)
During cruise, if an engine failure happens, the pilot should select a landing site, check for fire, and follow a series of steps including adjusting the mixture and throttle, attempting a restart, and preparing for a forced landing if necessary.
Wing Fire
In the case of a wing fire, the pilot should turn off navigation and strobe lights, and perform a side slip to keep flames away from the fuel and cabin. The aircraft should land as soon as possible with flaps retracted.
Engine Fire (On Start)
If an engine fire occurs during start, the pilot should continue cranking the starter and manage the throttle and mixture accordingly. If the engine starts, taxi away from other aircraft or pumps and inspect. If it doesn't start, secure the engine and evacuate the aircraft.
Cabin Fire
For a cabin fire, the master switch should be turned off, cabin air and vents closed, and a fire extinguisher used. The cabin should be ventilated, and the pilot should land as soon as possible.
Electrical Fire (In Flight)
In the event of an electrical fire in flight, the master switch and all other switches should be turned off, cabin air closed, and a fire extinguisher used. If the fire is out and electrical power is needed, the master switch can be turned on again.
