Engine Failure Takeoff Run
In the event of an engine failure during takeoff, the checklist instructs the pilot to immediately set the throttle to idle, apply brakes, retract wing flaps, and turn off the mixture and ignition switches.
Engine Failure Immediately After Takeoff
If an engine failure occurs immediately after takeoff, maintain an airspeed of 60 KIAS, turn off the mixture and fuel shutoff valve, and prepare for a controlled landing.
Engine Fire in Flight
In case of an engine fire during flight, the pilot should cut off the mixture, turn off the fuel shutoff valve, and maintain an airspeed of 85 KIAS to help extinguish the fire.
Forced Landing Emergency
For a forced landing without engine power, maintain an airspeed of 65 KIAS with flaps up or 60 KIAS with flaps down, and ensure the mixture and fuel shutoff valve are off before touchdown.
Electrical Fire in Flight
In the event of an electrical fire, the checklist advises turning off the master switch and all non-essential switches, closing vents, and using a fire extinguisher if available.
Safety notes
- After discharging a fire extinguisher, ventilate the cabin to remove smoke.
- Intentional spins are prohibited.
