Effectivity (1) Hartzell Propeller Inc. propellers installed on aircraft listed in Table 1 of this Service Letter are affected by this Service Letter. CAUTION: DO NOT USE OBSOLETE OR OUTDATED INFORMATION. PERFORM ALL INSPECTIONS OR WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MOST RECENT REVISION OF THIS SERVICE LETTER. INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS SERVICE LETTER MAY BE SIGNIFICANTLY CHANGED FROM EARLIER REVISIONS. Concurrent Requirements (1) Additional service documents may apply to the components/propellers affected by this Service Letter. Reason (1) An aircraft may have propeller mounted ice protection system components that have been supplied by Hartzell Propeller Inc. or by manufacturers other than Hartzell Propeller Inc. (2) Hartzell Propeller Inc. has received reports of fit and/or durability problems with certain propeller mounted ice protection system components installed on aircraft listed in Table 1 of this Service Letter. (3) Hartzell Propeller Inc. has designed replacement propeller mounted ice protection system components to correct fit and/or durability problems. (4) The installation procedures for new components, when different than currently installed component, are specified in Table 1 of the Service Letter. (5) This Service Letter introduces and approves replacement propeller mounted ice protection system components approved under Part 35. Additional FAA approval under 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 23 and 25 is not required for field installation of these replacement components. When installed on an aircraft approved for use with Hartzell Propeller Inc. propellers, the Hartzell Propeller Inc. components are FAA approved alternates for the currently approved components as shown in Table 1 of this Service Letter. Approval (1) FAA acceptance has been obtained on technical data in this publication that affects type design. F.
