SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Cirrus SR22T · Airworthiness Directives
Overview
This document is an Airworthiness Directive (AD) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia, specifically addressing safety concerns related to the Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22 series aeroplanes. The directive mandates inspections and corrective actions to ensure the proper rigging of the rudder and aileron controls, which are critical for safe flight operations. The AD is applicable to specific serial numbers of the SR20 and SR22 models, and it outlines the requirements for compliance, including inspection timelines and reporting procedures for any discovered issues. This directive is essential for pilots and maintenance personnel to ensure the continued airworthiness of affected aircraft.
- Inspect rudder and aileron rigging as per AD/CIRRUS/9 requirements.
- Applicable to SR20 SN 1005-1861 and SR22 SN 0002-2333, 2335-2419, 2421-2437.
- Correct any out-of-rig conditions and replace attaching hardware as per Cirrus Service Bulletin No. SB 2X-27-14 R3.
- Compliance required within 25 hours TIS or 3 months, whichever comes first.
- Report any out-of-rig conditions to CASA within 10 days of inspection.

Applicability
The Airworthiness Directive applies to Cirrus Design Corporation Model SR20 aeroplanes, serial numbers 1005 through 1861, and Model SR22 aeroplanes, serial numbers 0002 through 2333, 2335 through 2419, and 2421 through 2437.
Requirement
The directive requires an inspection of the rudder, aileron, and rudder-aileron interconnect rigging. Any out-of-rig conditions must be corrected, and the attaching hardware for the rudder-aileron interconnect must be replaced according to Cirrus Service Bulletin No. SB 2X-27-14 R3, dated 10 October 2007. Additionally, any out-of-rig conditions discovered during the inspection must be reported to CASA.
Compliance
Compliance with the directive is required within the next 25 hours of time-in-service (TIS) after the effective date of the AD or within the next 3 months, whichever occurs first. If an out-of-rig condition is found, it must be reported within 10 days after the inspection.
Background
The directive was issued following an incident involving the jamming of aileron and rudder controls on a Model SR20 aeroplane. It was found that other SR20 and SR22 models had misrigged flight controls, which could lead to similar jamming issues. The AD aims to prevent such occurrences, ensuring the safety of flight operations.
Safety notes
- Failure to comply with this AD may result in loss of rudder and aileron flight controls.
- Inspecting and correcting rigging issues is critical for safe flight operations.
