General Information

The installation instructions apply to Cirrus SR22 aircraft equipped with the IO-550-N engine, with a takeoff rating of 310 HP at 2,700 RPM. The document specifies the maximum takeoff gross weight (TOGW) for different serial number ranges of the SR22, which are 3,400 lbf for serial numbers 0002 to 3914 and 3,600 lbf for serial number 3915 and subsequent.

Field Installation of STC

This section outlines the steps for removing the original propeller and spinner, and installing the new Hartzell propeller and optional governor. It includes references to the Cirrus Airplane Maintenance Manual for proper removal procedures and emphasizes the need for careful installation of components, especially for propellers with ice protection.

Post-Installation Checks

After installation, it is recommended to perform post-installation checks as per Hartzell Propeller Owner’s Manual 480. This includes a functional check-flight to ensure proper operation of the propeller and governor, and adjustments to the governor high-RPM stop if necessary.

Weight and Balance Information

The document provides detailed weight and arm measurements for both the original and new propeller configurations, including weights for the propeller with and without ice protection, spinner, and optional governor. This information is crucial for updating weight and balance records.

Cirrus Factory Installation of STC

Similar to the field installation section, this part details the factory installation procedures for the propeller and governor, ensuring that all steps align with Hartzell and Cirrus manuals. It reiterates the importance of proper installation techniques and adjustments.

Safety notes

  • Verify compatibility of STC with previously approved modifications.
  • Perform functional check-flight after installation.
