Beechcraft 1900D · Checklist
Overview
This document is a Normal Operating Checklist specifically for the Beechcraft 1900D Airliner. It serves as a comprehensive guide for pilots to ensure all necessary pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures are followed. The checklist is organized into sections that cover cockpit preparation, before start, before taxi, before takeoff, after takeoff, cruise, shutdown, descent, before landing, and after landing. Each section contains specific tasks and checks that pilots must complete to ensure the safe operation of the aircraft. This checklist is essential for maintaining operational standards and safety protocols during flight operations.
- Ensure parking brake is set before starting procedures.
- Check fuel quantity and oxygen system status during cockpit preparation.
- Confirm all flight instruments are operational before takeoff.
- Monitor cabin pressure and environmental settings during flight.
- Follow specific shutdown procedures to ensure all systems are powered down correctly.

Cockpit Preparation
This section outlines the initial checks required before starting the aircraft. Key tasks include setting the parking brake, checking fuel quantity, ensuring the oxygen system is armed, and verifying that all circuit breakers are in. The engine anti-ice must be activated, and the master panel annunciators should be checked.
Before Start
Pilots must ensure that the cockpit preparation is completed, including setting the cabin signs and pressurization. Alarms and warnings are checked, and takeoff data is reviewed. The section emphasizes the importance of obtaining start clearance and ensuring the beacon and area are clear.
Before Takeoff
Critical checks include verifying engine and flight instruments, arming the auto-feather system, and confirming flight controls and flaps are set correctly. The section also highlights the need for a takeoff data review and ensuring the flight director is set as required.
After Takeoff
This section includes checks for landing gear, yaw damper engagement, and confirming that flaps are up. It also emphasizes the need to check cabin pressure and maintain proper environmental settings.
Shutdown
The shutdown procedures involve setting the parking brake, turning off GPS and radar, and ensuring that all systems are powered down appropriately. Pilots must also check the battery and generators before completing the shutdown.
Safety notes
- Icing conditions must be exited immediately if extensive ice accretion is observed.
- Use of autopilot is forbidden in the presence of significant icing.

ICING CONDITIONS MUST BE LEFT IMMEDIATELY WHEN: Unusually extensive ice accretion begins in areas you would not normally expect to find ice. Ice accretes aft of the aircrafts de-icing boot system. Extensive icing on the propeller spinner is observed. If any of the above are observed then use of the autopilot system is forbidden.
