Limitations of Operation

This section details operational limitations for the Beechcraft King Air A-100, including speed limitations such as Va (170 KCAS), Vmo (226 KCAS), and Vne. It also specifies fuel capacity (470 U.S. gallons), usable fuel, and weight limitations, including a maximum take-off weight of 11,500 lbs.

Engine Failure During Take-Off

In the event of an engine failure during take-off, if below take-off speed, pilots should reduce power to idle, apply brakes as required, and use maximum reverse thrust on the operative engine. If airborne, maintain maximum allowable power and feather the propeller of the inoperative engine.

Engine Failure or Fire in Flight

For an engine failure or fire in flight, the affected engine's power lever should be reduced to idle, and the propeller feathered. The condition lever should be set to cut-off, and the fuel firewall valve closed. If a fire extinguisher is installed, it should be actuated.

Emergency Descent Procedure

In an emergency descent, pilots should reduce power to idle, set the propeller to full increase RPM, extend the landing gear, and maintain a maximum airspeed of 156 knots.
