Fleet Overview
The Premier I and IA models have a total production of 297 aircraft, with 273 currently active. The Premier I, produced from 2001 to 2006, has 118 active units, while the Premier IA, produced from 2005 to 2012, has 155 active units. This indicates a healthy retention rate within the fleet.
Utilization Rates
The survey revealed that 52% of Premier I and 54% of Premier IA owners average less than 150 flight hours per year. This low utilization is comparable to personal aircraft but lower than similar-sized jets. This data highlights the potential for increased market activity as owners seek to maximize their aircraft usage.
Upgrades and Options
A significant portion of the fleet has been upgraded with modern avionics and safety features. For the Premier IA, 59% have been upgraded to LPV approach capability, and 91% are enrolled in an engine program, with 59% opting for the TAP Blue program. These upgrades are crucial for maintaining competitiveness in the resale market.
Market Insights
The document emphasizes the importance of accurate market data for the Premier series. It notes that about 89% of the fleet has complied with ADS-B requirements, reflecting a trend towards modernization. The findings suggest that aircraft with advanced features such as LPV capability are likely to command higher resale values.
Survey Methodology
The survey was conducted between October and November 2020, gathering responses from 77 Premier I and IA owners, representing 28% of the fleet. This methodology ensures that the insights provided are representative of current market conditions and owner preferences.

Congratulations to the owner of RB-0232 for winning the custom Premier airplane model! We look forward to your participation in our fall ’21 Premier fleet survey. The Premier is one of the world’s most compelling light jets, but accurate information about the aircraft can be hard to find. This often leads to suboptimal operational outcomes and an inefficient resale market. AEROCOR’s proprietary Premier Fleet Survey is designed to address these challenges. This survey synthesizes market information facilitating greater market transparency, liquidity, and efficiency. This enhanced marketplace sophistication benefits all by driving and sustaining market values. Survey Methodology AEROCOR's survey of Premier I and IA owners was conducted between October and November of 2020. The survey included questions related to aircraft utilization, program status, factory options and pertinent upgrades. The aim was to provide a current snapshot of the fleet and elicit feedback related to product support. A total of 77 responses were received, representing 28% of the fleet. Below is a summary of the results. Garmin (32%) None (2%) Collins (60%) Engine Program None (8%) TAP Elite (32%) JSSI (1%) TAP Blue (59%) ADS-B Garmin (15%) None (13%) Collins (72%) Key Survey Findings Fleet wide: • The Premier fleet has a relatively low utilization rate with 52% of Premier I and 54% of Premier IA’s surveyed averaging less than 150 hours per year. This is in line with personal aircraft (i.e. Citation Mustang and Eclipse 500) but lower than aircraft of similar size (i.e. Citation CJ2 and CJ3). • About 89% of the fleet has been upgraded to comply with ADS-B, leaving 11% (mostly in countries that have yet to implement ADS-B requirements) in need of the upgrade. Of note, over 20% opted to utilize Garmin’s lower cost “stand alone” upgrade which will make those aircraft more expensive to upgrade to LPV in the future (when compared against aircraft with other ADS-B solutions). • The Dual FMS configuration was more common in the Premier I, with 44% of Premier I’s equipped and 29% of Premier IA’s equipped. Dual FMS aircraft are more expensive to upgrade to LPV and as such, the LPV adoption rate for dual FMS aircraft is lower than for single FMS aircraft. Premier I • Over three quarters have been fitted with EGPWS and TCAS II. These options are prohibitively expensive to retrofit, which leaves aircraft without these features at a significant disadvantage in the resale market. • Just over 40% have been upgraded to LPV approach capability (either via the Textron service bulletin or the Collins modernization package, which also provides FMS performance calculations). As the Premier continues to attract more owner-pilots, the demand for LPV capable aircraft will likely increase which will, in turn, increase the premium for aircraft already LPV equipped. • 85% are enrolled in an engine program, 56% of which are TAP Blue. Given that the Blue program was not available when these aircraft were delivered, this means that a majority of owners enrolled in programs saw enough additional value in the Blue program to upgrade. • Only 38% have single point refueling meaning a majority of the original owners likely viewed additional payload capability as a higher priority. Premier IA • 59% of the aircraft surveyed have been upgraded to LPV approach capability (either via the Textron service bulletin or the Collins modernization package which also provides FMS performance calculations). As the Premier continues to attract more owner-pilots, the demand for LPV capable aircraft will likely increase. Given that over half have already been upgraded, buyers will begin to expect this feature meaning that aircraft lacking LPV will need to be discounted when sold. • 91% are enrolled in an engine program, 59% of which are TAP Blue. Given that the Blue program was not available when these aircraft were delivered, this means that a majority of owners enrolled in programs saw enough additional value in the Blue program to upgrade. • Only 39% have single point refueling, once again reinforcing buyer’s preference for additional useful load over convenient ground servicing.
